Perhaps you will recall that, earlier this year, we brought you some pictures and captions sent to us (and never previously used) YEARS AGO, when Bulletin Board was a daily feature of the Pioneer Press.
Here are a few more — with others yet to come:
Contributor: Steven Mund of the East Side of St. Paul
Dates of pictures: 1950s
Date of contribution: Unknown
Caption: “The place: the Emporium. The date: 1955. My first record with Santa, and pictures to go along. [Bulletin Board notes: pictures from several years, apparently.] Check out the cowboy outfits and all the fun at Christmas. Ahhh . . . the 1950s were a great time, and Christmas was a blast.
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”

Contributor: Mary LeTourneau of St. Paul
Date of picture: August 1938
Date of contribution: May 20, 2010
Caption: “A few weeks ago, you printed a picture of Mount Rushmore with just two of the carvings done.
“I thought you might like to see an update. This is from August 1938, and now there are three.
“Keep bringing the memories back. We love it.”

Contributor: Jeff or Christina

Caption: “Here is a photo taken in 1945 of Lillian Guerin and her four sons reuniting for the first time after serving in World War II.
“Lillian displayed four stars in her window, which represented her four boys, George, Bud, Mike, and Bill, serving in the Pacific and also in Germany. Today all four sons are in their 80s and have many interesting stories, photos and medals to show their experiences in the war.”
